Picnics and ballgames and musicals…oh, my!

Okay, confession time: I am a horrible blogger. It’s not like I’m admitting to anything you didn’t already know, just look at the date of the last post…and the ones before that. I’ve made New Year’s resolutions to do a better job of maintaining this blog, and I’ve told myself repeatedly that I would start posting regularly. So far, not so much. So here I am again, faced with a huge backlog of events to share, resolving yet again to be a better blogger…and to use less alliteration, apparently.
I decided that the best way to get started was with a review, of sorts. So here (not in chronological or preferential order) are some of my favorite photos from 2012. Enjoy!

January 28, 2013 - 10:41 pm - So proud of you! Love they way you capture the joy.
A couple of weeks ago, the children’s ministry at our church passed out little plastic “rice bowls” for all of the kids to take home and fill with change to help support Rice Bowls, an organization that provides food to orphanages around the world. On the way home that day, Carter decided that she wanted to do something big! She and Miller decided that they would have a bake sale to raise money to fill their bowl, so off they went. Before we knew it, she had designed business cards and was developing their business plan. Of course I decided to step in and lend a hand (mostly because of how proud I was of their ingenuity…but also because I knew who the “baker” would be for this bake sale). And so it began…
After several meetings about possible items to sell (and sample batches), and discussions about marketing strategies…we decided to have on online bake sale…with our favorite: Salted Caramel Butter Bars!
We’re not shy, we want to raise as much money as possible…so order away!
